Protect Your Hospital Credentials Under OPPE & FPPE Reviews
Currently, hospitals are conducting performance evaluations of each physician with admitting privileges, under Joint Commission guidelines, as often as every six (6) months. The performance measurements focus on statistics for:
- hospital re-admissions
- lenghth of stay
- postoperative infections
- consultant requests
- medication errors
Often a "preponderance of care" standard is utlized, when multiple physicians provide care for a single patient, in order to attribute a patient's medical statistics to an attending physician, often resulting in surprises at the OPPE review. I can make sure that you understand the process of OPPE review, and to make sure that the statistics for such reviews are really yours.
Understanding the circumstances when FPPE reviews will be conducted will reduce the need for participating.
